What is a Mock Interview?
A mock interview is a practice interview for the job you applied for in the resume and cover letter for Task 2. You will be interviewed by a panel of 1-2 people and you will be marked by the panel about the interview.
Things the panel is looking at is: How well you presented yourself; Your communication skills and How well prepared you were for the interview. The Panelists will complete the Interview Feedback sheet and this will be returned to your PLP Teacher to be included with your Task 2. |

To finish off Task 2 prior to submitting it, students are expected to complete a short reflection of their Mock Interview Experience.
Mock interviews will occur in Term 1, before you go on Work Experience. Dates and times to be confirmed. |
Important things to remember about the Mock Interview
- There will be a timetable of what time and where your Mock Interview will be. Make sure you make a note of this in your diary as it may be straight after home group, during recess or lunch, or in a class that is not PLP. There is no excuse for missing your interview.
- Interviews will go for about 10 Minutes. You will be allowed to leave your class 10 minutes before your interview so that you can change into your interview clothes and be on time. After the interview you will need to change back into your uniform and return to class. (25 Minutes total)
- There will be a maximum 2 panel interviewers - these will be people from the business community who have volunteered their time to help you, so please be respectful.
- Dress appropriately - See the information about what to wear to an interview.
- Make sure you have neat hair, do not have your hair on your face
- Interviewers will ask 3 questions from the list below, and then 2 mystery questions of their own choosing - it is important that you prepare and practice all 5 of the questions below as you will not know which 3 the interviewers will ask.
- You must be applying for a job you can do right now, as a 15-16 year old - you will choose a part time job from the list provided in the task.
- You must have a hard copy of your resume with the cover letter for the panel members.

- What are your weaknesses
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make your subject teachers aware of interviews and be sure to negotiate a time for your interview if you can’t miss the lesson, for example a maths test, or a science/ag prac.
Interview times will be randomly allocated unless YOU inform your PLP teacher about a possible clash, and you will be expected to attend.
